Love Sickness
|
Synopsis:
Love of all kinds and at all ages, grows in the backyards of Puerto Rico: a child’s
first kiss, a man who cannot cope with rejection, an elderly love affair. Passion
defeats reason, again and again, in this film about the eternal masochistic search
for love.

DIRECTOR’S CV:
Carlitos Ruiz Ruiz was born in Puerto Rico. He studied Photography at the University
of Puerto Rico and received a scholarship to continue studying at the Art Institute
of Chicago, where he received a BFA in Film Direction. His thesis short film Pelota
de Papel won the judges’ Special Award in the San Juan Cinemafest and Best short
film in the Hamptons Film Festival. He also won the Silver Award at the 2004 Ojo
de Iberoamerica Festival. Lovesickness is his first feature film.

DIRECTOR’S CV:
Mariem Perez Riera began her career as a theatre and television actress. At the
age of nine she played the main role in the independent film The Two Worlds of Angelita
directed by Jane Morrison. She obtained a BFA in Filmmaking from the University
of Miami and a post graduate degree from the International School of Film and Television
of Cuba. Lovesickness is his first feature film.
