Synopsis:
Ai Qin, a young Chinese girl from Fujian borrows 25000 US dollars to the Snakehead
gang to smuggle her in the UK so she can support her son and family back in China.
Once in the UK she becomes another one of three million migrant workers, living
with 15 other Chinese in a two-bedroom suburban house. With an illegal forged work
permit, she works in factories preparing food for British supermarkets.

DIRECTOR’S CV:
Nick Broomfield was born in 1948 in London, UK. He studied Law at Cardiff, Wales
and Political Science at the University of Essex. Subsequently he undertook graduate
studies at England’s National Film School. He is a well-known documentary filmmaker.
Among his works: Kurt and Courtney – 1997, Biggie and Tupac – (2002), Life and Death
of a Serial Killer – 2003, Big White Self – 2006 and Battle for Haditha – 2007.
