BATTLE FOR HADITHA
|
Synopsis:
Iraqi Insurgents bomb a convoy of US Marines, resulting in the death of their most
popular officer. Enraged by this loss, his young marines buddies carry out a brutal
retaliation. Their violent house-searches lead to the massacre of 24 people, many
of whom are women and children – tragic casualties of a war they cannot control.
The Marines too are victims, attacked and wounded, and forced to respond in the
way they have been trained. But when events occur at great speed and under extreme
stress, can Marines, in the line of fire, is accused of murder?

DIRECTOR’S CV:
Nick Broomfield was born in 1948 in London, UK. He studied Law at Cardiff, Wales
and Political Science at the University of Essex. Subsequently he undertook graduate
studies at England’s National Film School. He is a well-known documentary filmmaker.
Among his works: Kurt and Courtney – 1997, Biggie and Tupac – (2002), Life and Death
of a Serial Killer – 2003 and Big White Self – 2006. Battle for Haditha is his first
dramatic feature film.
