After obtaining a degree in Philosophy, she starts working in Cinema as a publicist
for PEA which, in the late seventies, produces many of Italy’s most important films,
including: Federico Fellini’s Casanova, Pier Paolo Pasolini’s Salo, Bernardo Bertolucci’s
Novecento and Francesco Rosi’s Cadaveri Eccellenti. She then works for 20th Century
Fox and Warner Bros as marketing consultant and film publicist, promoting some of
the most innovative and interesting American auteurs of the eighties and nineties.
In 1992, she teams up with Gianni Romolo to start her career as film producer, founding
R&C Produzioni. Their first film is Michele Soavi’s Dellamorte Dellamore, followed
by Nitrato d’Argento directed by Marco Ferreri. In 2001, she receives the prestigious
Nastro d’Argento award for best producer. In 2003, the film La Finestra di Fronte,
by Ferzan Ozpetek, wins five David di Donatello awards (including Best Film), as
well as three Nastri d’Argento and three Ciak d’Oro awards, among many others. It
also receives the Biglietto d’Oro as third-highest-grossing film of the 2003 film
season. In 2004, R&C Produzioni produces Vento di Terra, Vincenzo Marra’s second
film, present at the Venice Film Festival of 2004 in the Orizzonti section where
it wins the Pasinetti and Fipresci awards. In May 2005, the film is invited to the
Cannes Film Festival, receiving the critics’ award for the film revelation of the
year. In 2004, she co-produces Lucrecia Martel’s La Nina Santa. The film competes
officially in the 2004 Cannes Film Festival. In 2007, she produces Ferzan Ozeptek’s
new film Saturno Contro as well as Vincenzo Marra’s L’Ora di Punta.
