Cinematographer– (Egypt)
|
He has been one of the most important cinematographers in the Arab world for the
past twenty-five years. He was born in 1942, Cairo, Egypt and graduated from the
Higher Institute of Cinema, Cinematography in 1964. He is camera director and cinema
producer. He is also a part-time Professor in the Higher Institute of Cinema since
1980. From 1995 to 2000, he worked as Lighting and Camera Consultant at ART radio
and television. He is also academy instructor on different arts establishment. He
produced four films:" "Shams El Zinati", "El Elrhabi (The Terrorist, 1994)"," Eish
Alghorab (Mushroom)", El Taarna El Akhira, (The last Stab). In television, he directed
" Harat El Awans (District of Spinisters, 2006) and " El Mahata (The Station, 2007).
His works as a director of photographer include 130 long feature films and 10 documentaries.
He worked with the most famous directors in the Egyptian Cinema like Samir Saif
in Alghool (The Beast, 1983) - Atef Altayab in El Badroum (The Basement, 1987) -
Nader Jalal in (48 hours in Israel, 1999) and Omar Abdel Aziz in (Granita, 2001).
He won the Golden Creative Award for best lightening and cinematography from the
Television & Radio Festivals in 2003 and 2005.
