Film Critic – (Syria)

Salah SirminI was born in Halab, Syria. He obtained a Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering
in 1981 and another degree in Film Making from The Higher Institute of Cinema in
Cairo. He works as a cinema critic in numerous Arabic magazines since 1975. He is
also a member of The International Union for Cinema Press as well as a jury member
in many international festivals such as the 44th Florence International Documentary
Film Festival in Italy (2003) and the 6th Limoge Short Feature Film Festival in
France (2005). He was also a member in the selection committee for Short and Documentary
feature films at the Dubai Film Festival in 2006.
