So-ri Moon first major film roles came in Lee Chand-dong’s Peppermint Candy in 1999 and Oasis in 2002, both played opposite Sol Kyung-gu. Her role in Oasis garnered praise and critical acclaim (including the Marcello Mastroianni Award as Best New Actress at the 2002 Venice Film Festival) for her meticulous and moving portrayal of a woman with cerebral palsy. She followed up this award winning performance by playing a housewife who has an affair with a teenage boy in Im Sang-soo’s critically-acclaimed A Good Lawyer’s Wife in 2003. This role won her Best Actress at the Grand Bell Awards in 2004. Since then, she has held leading roles as Song Kang-ho’s wife in The President’s Barber (2004), as an emotionally damaged woman in Sa-kwa (2005) and as a sexually promiscuous professor in Bewitching Attraction (2006).
