After a few years in pharmaceutical studies, Michel Alexandre enters the French
Department of Criminal Investigation as a Police detective. He spends 16 years of
his life hunting criminals in Paris. In 1989, he turns to crime technical advising
in Cinema while continuing his career as law enforcer. He meets Bertrand Tavernier,
the well-know French director, who asks him to write a script, launching Alexandre’s
new career as a scriptwriter. Alexandre was twice nominated for Best Script César
Awards for Tavernier’s L.627 and Alain Corneau’s The Cousin. He is member of the
jury of the festivals of Cognac, Dinard, Paris and Bastia, among others. He was
also president of the young Jury in the 2003 Cannes Film Festival. Alexandre is
the founder and director of the Police Paris New York Film festival in New York
City, which is dedicated to French crime films. Among his films: Midi à sa porte
– 2002, Fargas – 2001, Groupe Flag – 2001, TR 08 – 2007 and Le Pro ! – 2007.
